Provided, however, that no contract shall be entered into
under this resolution, save with the prior written approval of
the Board of Public Works.

NO. 30.

Requesting and directing the State Librarian to furnish the
Department of Legislative Reference copies of the 1924
Edition of the Annotated Code of Maryland.

WHEREAS, It is necessary for the Department of Legislative
Reference to keep its collection of the codes and laws of the
other States up to date, if it is to be of the greatest service to
the members of the General Assembly and to the State officials;
and

WHEREAS, The Department has very limited funds with
which to buy books and other equipment; and

WHEREAS, The Budget Bill contains an appropriation for the
purchase of five hundred (500) sets of the 1924 Edition of the
Annotated Code of Maryland; and

WHEREAS, All of these copies will not be needed for distribu-
tion to the several State departments and officials; and

WHEREAS, The Department of Legislative Reference could
use copies of this edition for exchange with similar depart-
ments in other States for their codes or supplements thereto;
therefore, be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the

State Librarian be and is hereby requested and directed to
place at the disposal of the Executive of the Department of
Legislative Reference, fifty sets of the 1924 Edition of the
Annotated Code of Maryland, for the purpose of exchange for
the codes and supplements of the several States.

RESOLUTION of the Senate of Maryland petitioning the
United States Shipping Board to place the operation of its
lines from the North Atlantic Range to the United King-
dom and Ireland in the hands of an operator operating out
of the Port of Baltimore.
