tion already enacted by the said Congress for officers of the
regular Army, Navy and Marine Corps, and for the tem-
porary officers of the Navy and Marine Corps; and

Be it further resolved, That the Secretary of State be and
he is hereby requested to transmit under the Great Seal of
the State of Maryland a copy of this resolution to the Presi-
dent of the Senate of the United States, to the Speaker of the
House of Representatives of the United States, and to the
Senators and Representatives in Congress from Maryland.

NO. 16.

JOINT RESOLUTION authorizing and requesting the Central
Purchasing Bureau to purchase products made by the Mary-
land Workshop for the Blind.

WHEREAS, The Maryland Workshop for the Blind is hav-
ing difficulty in marketing its products, particularly its brooms,
made by the blind workers in said institution, due to the fact
that it must charge a higher price than the market price for
said products in order to pay. the cost of production of said
products, the cost of production of products produced by the
said Maryland Workshop for the Blind being greater than
the cost of production of such products when made by ma-
chinery or by labor possessing eyesight; now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Central Purchasing Bureau, in making purchases of prod-
ucts of a kind or kinds made by the Maryland Workshop for
the Blind, be and it is hereby authorized and requested to
make such purchases from the said Maryland Workshop for
the Blind, even though the price of said products may be
higher than the market price of such products.

Approved April 9, 1924.

Requesting Congress to pass House Joint Resolution No. 180
for the Relief of the distressed and starving women and chil-
dren of Germany.
