known as the North Takoma Bridge, and the approaches there-
to; and that the County Commissioners of Montgomery Coun-
ty are authorized to apportion and apply the proceeds of the
sale of the one hundred thousand dollar ($100, 000) bond issue,
to any one, two or three of the projects mentioned in this Sec-
tion, in the amounts that they may see fit; and the County
Commissioners of Montgomery County are further authorized
to fix a rate of interest on this bond issue, except that the rate
of interest may not exceed five per centum per annum; and
the County Commissioners of Montgomery County are also
authorized to determine the date of maturity of all bonds in

this bond issue, except that no bond of this bond issue shall
run for a period of more than twenty-five (25) years.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the County Com-
missioners of Montgomery County are authorized, empowered
and directed to issue the bonds for the amount to be appor-
tioned and expended for the elimination of the grade crossing
on the Brookeville road upon the security of the property of
the fifth (5th), eighth (8th), and thirteenth (13th) election
districts of Montgomery County and that all the bonds issued
for this purpose shall be known as the "Brookeville Road
Grade Crossing Elimination Bonds of 1924. "

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the County Com-
missioners of Montgomery County are authorized, empowered
and directed to issue the bonds to produce the sum apportioned
and to be expended for the construction of the secondary over-
head crossing described in Section 1 of this Act, and for the
reconstruction of the bridge at North Takoma, described in
Section 1 of this Act, secured upon the property of the second
(2nd) precinct, of the thirteenth (13th) election district of
Montgomery County (Silver Spring), and of the fourth (4th)
precinct of the thirteenth (13th) election district of Mont-
gomery County (Takoma), which bonds shall be known as the
"Silver Spring-Takoma Overhead Crossing Bonds of 1924";
provided further, however, that should the Board of County
Commissioners of Montgomery County, under the authority
granted them by Section 1 of this Act, decide to construct the
secondary crossing described in Section 1 of this Act, but not
to reconstruct the present overhead bridge at North Takoma,
that the bonds necessary to produce the funds for this purpose
be secured on the property of the second (2nd) precinct of the
thirteenth (13th) election district of Montgomery County
(Silver Spring); or should the County Commissioners of
