CHAPTER 579.

AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Charles
County to levy a sum of money to complete and make such
additions as may be necessary to the county jail.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Charles County, be
and they are hereby authorized to levy a sum not exceeding
($4, 000. 00) dollars at their next annual levy for the purpose
of completing and making such additions as may be necessary
to the county jail.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1924.

Approved April 9, 1924.

CHAPTER 580.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 123
of Article 33 of Bagby's Annotated Code of Maryland, title
"Elections, " so as to remove the requirement that specimen
ballots be printed in type of a considerably magnified size,
and providing that such specimen ballots be printed in type
of the same size used in the printing of ballots to be used in
any election, and for other purposes.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 123 of Article 33 of Bagby's Annotated
Code of Maryland, title "Elections, " be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments, so as to read as fol-
lows:

123. At least thirty days before every State election the
Attorney General shall prepare full instructions for the guid-
ance of the voters at such election as to obtaining ballots, as to
the manner of marking them, and as to obtaining new ballots
in place of those accidently destroyed, with such other instruc-
tions as shall in his opinion be necessary and proper. Said
instructions shall be furnished by the Secretary of State to
the several Boards of Supervisors of Elections, who shall re-
spectively cause the same to be printed in large, clear type, on
separate cards, to be called "Cards of Instruction, " and said
Board of Supervisors shall furnish twelve of the same with
ballots for use in each election precinct. They shall also cause
to be printed on light cardboard or heavy-sized paper, ten or
