ers of such land, between sunrise and sunset of any week day
between the first day of October in any year and the first day
of April in the following year. An annual license fee of fif-
teen dollars ($15) shall be paid the State Comptroller for each
boat used in taking oysters from leased bottoms and the license
number shall be placed on the bow of each boat in figures not
less than eight inches in length. It is however, specially pro-
vided that it shall be unlawful for any holder of land un-
der this sub-title to take up oysters from the land so held by
him during the closed season for the dredging of oysters from
the natural bars of this State until after he has given a writ-
ten notice of his intention so to do to the official in charge of
the nearest police boat, in which notice he shall name the week
day or week days and the hours between sunrise and sunset
of such week day or week days in such closed season during
which he may intend to take oysters from such land, and it
shall be unlawful for the holder of any such land to take up
oysters from the land held by him at any other times than
those named in such notice. Any person violating any of the
provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a mis-
demeanor, and upon indictment and conviction in any Circuit
Court for any county of this State, or in the Criminal Court
of Baltimore City, before which such case is tried, shall be
subject to all the penalties provided in Section 25 of this ar-
ticle for taking oysters unlawfully within the provisions of
certain sections therein referred to. Provided, however, that
nothing in this section shall apply to Dorchester, Anne Arun-
del, Talbot, Charles, Wicomico, Kent and Queen Anne's Coun-
ties.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That this Act shall take effect on Tune 1, 1924.

AN ACT to exempt from County Taxation the real and per-
sonal property of The Agricultural and Mechanical Associ-
ation of Washington County, The Carroll County Agricul-
tural Fair Association, The Cumberland Fair Association,
Inc., The Garrett County Agricultural Fair Association and
The Harford County Fair Association, Inc.
