by him in bank to the credit of the said Road Supervisor,
subject to his order.

SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That the said Road
Supervisor shall have charge and control of all public roads
of Calvert County, except the State Roads in said County,
that he shall inspect said roads from time to time, determine
the amount of work to be done, prepare necessary specifications
for said work, advertise and let all work on all roads in Cal-
vert County to the lowest responsible bidder, said roads to be
built or repaired according to specifications for such work,
except in the event that the immediate repair of a road or
the removal of obstructions from the road be necessary for
the preservation of public safety, in which cases the said Road
Supervisor shall immediately have the work done under
his direct supervision: and the said Road Supervisor shall
at all times when work is being done on public roads attend
and inspect said work and accept the work of contractor if
in conformity with specifications.

SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, That said Road Super-
visor shall keep a record of all work done on. the public
roads, with cost of same, which shall include all specifications
of work which he may let out from time to time to contractors
for building or repairing the public roads as provided in this
Act; and said Road Supervisor shall attend his office at
Prince Frederick, Calvert County, to be provided by the
County Commissioners, on every Tuesday of each month from
10 A. M. to 2 P. M., to accept bids for work advertised, let
out work to lowest responsible bidder and pay contractors for
work completed according to specifications.

SEC. S. And be it further enacted, That the said County
Commissioners of Calvert County at their annual meeting for
the levying of the County tax are hereby authorized to levy
upon the assessable basis of the County a sum of money for
the building and repairing of the public roads in Calvert
County, not less, however, than $6, 000. 00, each year, and the
said Road Supervisor shall keep an account, showing the
number, date, amount, and to whom payable of each order
drawn by Him on the Treasurer of the County, and all orders
so drawn by him shall be paid by the Treasurer when pre-
sented out of any money he may have in hand for the purpose,
not exceeding, however, the amount levied for road purposes.
