the two leading parties of the county, one from each of said
parties. The present commissioners created by this Act shall
be James W. Higgins, Sr., and Joseph F. Hardesty, who shall
serve until the first Monday in March, 1927, after which time
the said Road Commissioners shall be appointed by the Gov-
ernor for a term of four years. Provided, however, that the
Commissioners so appointed by the said Governor shall be
selected from a list of two names each duly certified or pre-
sented to him in writing, on or before the first day of February
next preceding the date on which said appointments shall be
made, by the respective Central Committees of the two leading
parties aforesaid; and that said Governor shall at all times
make such appointments or fill vacancies occurring in said
Board of Road Commissioners to the end that each of said two
leading parties shall be represented in said Board of Road
Commissioners. Each of said Road Commissioners shall
receive a salary of $100 per annum, payable quarterly.

The said Road Commissioners shall appoint a Road Super-
visor who shall have and exercise the powers and perform the
duties hereinafter enumerated.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the said Road
Supervisor shall qualify by taking the oath of office before
the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Calvert County, that he will
faithfully and diligently fulfill the duties required of him as
Road Supervisor of Calvert County to the best of his ability
and that he will devote his entire time to the supervising: of
building and repairing the public roads as herein provided; he
shall give bond, with securities to be approved by the County
Commissioners for Calvert County, in the penalty of $1, 000
for the proper custody, use and expenditure of all money com-
ing into his hands as said Road Supervisor, which bond shall
be filed with and duly recorded by the Clerk of the Circuit
Court of Calvert County.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That the said Road
Supervisor shall receive the sum of $1, 000 per annum, to
be paid to him monthly by the County Commissioners of Cal-

vert County.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That all amounts de-
voted to the road fund of Calvert County by special legislation
shall be paid over to the said Road Supervisor to be used
for the building and repairing of the said public roads, accord-
ing to the methods prescribed in this Act, and to be deposited
