of said County, who shall thereupon make transfer on the
county assessment books of said property to the name of the
new owner or owners thereof, and as evidence of said transfer,
shall stamp upon the said deed his certificate thereof, and no
deed shall be received for record without said certificate; but
nothing in this Act shall be construed as applying to the
granting of easements or rights of way. At the time of
submitting the deeds to the Clerk of the County Com-
missioners the person or persons offering the same shall
furnish said Clerk with a statement of the buildings, if any,
upon the land conveyed by said deed and such other informa-
tion relating to said land as he may deem necessary in the
making of proper transfers.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all laws or parts of
laws, state or local, inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed
to the extent of such inconsistency.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1924.

CHAPTER 571.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 379
of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
(Revised Edition of 1915), title "City of Baltimore, " sub-
title "Criers, Bailiffs, Watchmen and Stenographers, " so as
to increase the compensation of court stenographers ap-
pointed by the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 379 of Article 4 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (Revised Edition of 1915), title
"City of Baltimore, " sub-title "Criers, Bailiffs, Watchmen
and Stenographers, " be and the same is hereby repealed and re-
enacted with amendments, so as to read as follows:

379. The judges of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City
are authorized and directed to appoint from time to time as
many court stenographers, not exceeding in number altogether
the number of said judges, as shall in their discretion be re-
quired for the services of the several courts of Baltimore City,
who shall be sworn officers of the court, and shall each be paid
a salary of three thousand dollars per annum when such
stenographers shall be required to attend the courts regularly,
