violations of the Motor Vehicle Laws of the State, and ex-
clusive jurisdiction in said city over such violations, and
providing that the chief clerk and deputy clerks shall each
be bonded. and shall handle all moneys; and providing that
when summoned to appear for trial the accused shall be no-
tified of the nature of the charge against him, and that the
time of trial shall meet the convenience of the accused, if
possible.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 159 of Chapter 85 of the Acts of 1918,
codified as Section 159 of Article 56 of the 1916-1918 Sup-
plement to the Annotated Code of Public General Laws of
Maryland, title, "Licenses, " sub-title, ''Motor Vehicles, " be
and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted as follows:

159. In addition to the Justices of the Peace provided for
in Section 623 of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, there shall be appointed by the Governor, by and
with the advice and consent of the Senate, and if the Senate
shall not be in session, by the Governor, from the City of Bal-
timore at large, not more than three additional Justices of
the Peace, to be known as the Justices of the Peace of the
Traffic Court, who shall be of high moral character and repu-
table members of the Bar of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore
City, who shall have been actively engaged in the practice of
law for at least five years; one Justice to be known as the
Justice of the Peace of the Traffic Court, whose duty
shall be to care for the general business of said Court and to
have charge of the administration thereof, and who is to re-
ceive the salary of three thousand dollars per annum; payable
monthly, and not more than two other associate Justices of
the Peace of the Traffic Court, who shall each receive
the salary of three thousand dollars per annum, payable
monthly, and shall receive no other compensation or fees
whatever for the performance of any duty required by
law. Said Traffic Court shall be divided into separate
courts, and one of said Justices of the Peace shall be as-
signed to each of said courts. The Traffic Court shall be in
session every day except Sundays and holidays. Said Traffic
Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction within the City of Balti-
more to hear and determine all complaints of violations of the
Motor Vehicle Laws of the State, and shall have exclusive ju-
risdiction where jurisdiction now or may hereafter be given to
any Justice of the Peace in Baltimore City to try or commit
