the date of issuing or making of same. The said note or notes
and the interest thereon shall be paid out of the regular levies
to be made in the years 1924, 1925 and 1926.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the work of cleaning
out the said Long Marsh Ditch shall be under the joint supervi-
sion of a committee, to be known as the Long Marsh Ditch Com-
mittee, consisting of Howard E. Wilson, Eldridge Downes, Wil-
liam T. Thompson and the County Road Engineer of Queen
Anne's County, representing Queen Anne's County, and Rob-
ert Jarrell, Jr. , Cole, Schultz and
the County Road Engineer of Caroline County, representing
Caroline County. The said committee shall have the power, if
in its judgment it is deemed expedient, to purchase suitable
ditch digging or cleaning machines to be used in cleaning out
the said Long Marsh Ditch.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That the said Long Marsh
Ditch Committee shall begin the work of cleaning out the said
Ditch at the head of the mill pond just south of the Bridgetown
bridge and from that point to the bridge on the public road lead-
ing from Merrick's Corner to Kane's Cross roads, being between
the lands of C. B. Thompson and the heirs of the George estate.
The said Committee may expend on this work the sum of six
thousand ($6, 000) dollars. The remaining two thousand ($2. 000)
dollars may be used in cleaning out as much of said Ditch as

possible from the last-mentioned bridge to its source.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That the members of the
Committee created by this Act may select not more than two of
their number to supervise the actual work of cleaning out the
said Ditch and who shall be paid such reasonable sum for their
services as the said Committee shall determine.

SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That the County Treas-
urer of Queen Anne's County shall pay said County's share of
the cost of the work provided for by this Act upon vouchers ap-
proved by the Road Engineer of said County and the Treasurer
of Caroline County shall pay said County's share of the cost of
said work upon vouchers approved by the Road Engineer of said
County.

SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, That the Supervisors" of
Assessments for Queen Anne's and Caroline Counties, respec-
tively, shall reappraise and reassess the land that has been ma-
terially benefited by the opening and cleaning out of said Long
Marsh Ditch as soon as the work is completed.
