any duty required by law in criminal cases, but the said County
Commissioners shall in no case pay the aforesaid salary until
the said police justice shall have filed his monthly reports as
required by Section 4 of this Act.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1924.

CHAPTER 510.
AN ACT to authorize the Police Commissioner of Baltimore
City to reinstate George Hudgins as a member of the Balti-
more Police Department.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Police Commissioner of Baltimore City be and
he is hereby authorized and empowered, in his discretion, to
reinstate George Hudgins as a member of the Police Depart-
ment of Baltimore City in the same grade occupied by him at
the time of his resignation therefrom.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1924.

CHAPTER 511.
AN ACT to add a new section to Offutt's Code of Public Local
Laws of Baltimore County of the Edition of 1916, title
''Baltimore County, " sub-title "Sidewalks, " to follow imme-
diately after Section 568, and to be known as Section 568A,
providing that the County Commissioners may initiate pro-
ceedings for the construction of sidewalks in Baltimore
County within the limits of Catonsville as described in this
Act.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be added to Offutt's Code of Public
Local Laws of Baltimore County of the Edition of 1916, title
"Baltimore County, " sub-title "Sidewalks, " to follow immedi-
ately after Section 568, and to be known as Section 56-8A, to
read as follows:
Section 568A. The County Commissioners may initiate pro-
ceedings for the erection of sidewalks anywhere within the town
