CHAPTER 66.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 20 of the Code of Pub-
lic Local Laws of Maryland, title "Somerset County", sub-
title "Sheriff", said new section to be known as Section 242
and to follow immediately after Section 241 of said Article,
requiring the Sheriff of Somerset County to execute war-
rants of distress for rent and making it a misdemeanor for
the said Sheriff to refuse or fail to execute such warrants.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 20
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title '' Somerset
County", sub-title ''Sheriff'', said new section to be known as
Section 242, to follow immediately after Section 241 of said
Article, and to read as follows:

242. In all cases arising in Somerset County where a land-
lord is authorized to distrain for rent due, and where a warrant
of distress for rent is now allowed by law to a landlord, such
warrant may be directed to the Sheriff of said County, and
said Sheriff is hereby directed in all cases to execute such war-
rants of distress, either himself or through his sworn deputy.
Any Sheriff of Somerset County neglecting or refusing in any
case to execute a warrant of distress for rent, shall be guilty of
a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be fined not less
than ten dollars, and not more than twenty-five dollars, for each
and every offense.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1. 1924.

CHAPTER 67.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 318 of
Melvin's Code of Public Local Laws for Anne Arundel
County, title "Roads", sub-title "County Road Engineer, "
increasing the salary of said County Road Engineer.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 318 of Melvin's Code of the Public Local
Laws for Anne Arundel County, title "Roads", sub-title
"County Road Engineer", be and the same is hereby repealed
and re-enacted with amendments, so as to read as follows:
