shall within twenty days thereafter appoint some one to fill
said vacancy, who shall take the oath and give the bond here-
inbefore required to be taken and given by the treasurer; and
the treasurer shall, at the expiration of his term of office, trans-
fer and deliver to his successors in office all books, accounts and
papers of every kind connected with his office.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1924.

CHAPTER 65.
AN ACT to repeal Sections 13 and 14 of Article 20 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Somerset County, "
sub-title "Drainage, " as enacted by Chapter 161 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1918. and to
re-enact the same with amendments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 13 and 14 of Article 20 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Somerset County, " sub-
title "Drainage, " as enacted by Chapter 161 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland of 1918, be and the same are
hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
13. That they shall give at least ten days' notice of the meet-
ing by advertisement posted in four of the most public places
of the neighborhood in which the swamp or lowlands lie, stating
the time, place and object of the meeting.
14. That at such meeting or any other meeting, each of the
taxables shall be entitled to the following grades of votes, in
proportion to their respective taxes; for any tax of one dollar or
less, one vote, and for any tax over one dollar one vote for each
dollar and one vote for any fraction of a dollar of fifty cents or
over; and any natural person entitled to vote may vote by
proxy, authorized by writing, under his or her hand; and any
corporation entitled to vote may vote by proxy, authorized by
writing under the hand of the President or Vice-President of
such corporation.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1st, 1924.
