tion, or necessary in order to properly register a qualified
voter. All persons who continuously reside within the corpo-
rate limits of said town shall be required to register but once
in every four years. Each member of the Board of Election
Commissioners shall be entitled to receive not to exceed $5 for
each day of service, and the Mayor and Common Council shall
appropriate a sum sufficient to defray the necessary expenses
of said Board. The second sitting of the said Board shall be
on Saturday next preceding the day of election, and if such
day falls on a holiday, then on the preceding day.
All male and female persons who are citizens of the United
States, twenty-one years of age or over, and who have actually
resided within the area denned as the corporate limits of the
said town for a period of not less than one year next preceding
the date of election, shall be entitled to be registered. Any
person who shall reach the age of twenty-one years on or be-
fore election day shall not be barred from registering..
(b) The said Board shall proceed to conduct an election by
a ballot on the first Monday of July, if not a legal holiday,
and if a legal holiday, then on the day following, for the elec-
tion of officers provided for in Section 5 of the Act approved
April 13, 1922, incorporating the town of Brentwood. The
polls shall be opened between the hours of one o'clock P. M.
and eight o'clock P. M., and shall permit only those persons to
vote whose names appear upon the registration books of which
the said Board shall have custody. The Board of Election
Commissioners shall prepare ballots containing the names of
those persons who have complied with the existing provisions
of law making them eligible to become a candidate for the
office for which they seek. The Mayor and Town Council shall
receive all returns of election in writing which shall be sub-
mitted under oath of the Board of Election Commissioners.
Any member of said Board may interrogate any voter as to
his qualifications, and may require such voter to make answer
under oath. The determination of the Board of Election
Commissioners shall be final and conclusive in all matters re-
lating to the town election, and any voter or candidate who
feels that his rights have been prejudiced in any manner by
the action of said Board may, within ten days after election.

and the same shall be determined by said Court.
