SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect after June 1, 1924.

CHAPTER 493.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 20
of Article 72 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, title
"Oysters, " sub-title "Dredging, " as said section was amend-
ed by Chapter 519 of the Acts of 1922, increasing the pen-
alties for using power boats in catching or taking oysters.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 20 of Article 72 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, title "Oysters, " sub-title "Dredging, " as said sec-
tion was amended by Chapter 519 of the Acts of 1922, be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

20. No steamer or power boat of any kind shall be used
or employed in catching* or taking oysters in the waters of the
State with scoop, dredge or similar instrument, and the captain
of any boat who shall have on his boat any engine or motor
of any kind, whether attached to said boat or not, which is
adapted to or can be used in the propulsion of said boat, shall
be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction there-
of shall be fined not less than two hundred dollars nor more
than three hundred dollars for the first offense and not less
than, two hundred and fifty dollars and the forfeiture of his

license for the rest of the season for the second offense, and no
other boat shall be used in catching oysters with scoop, dredge
or similar instrument without first having been licensed, as
hereinafter provided.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1924.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor and Council of
Salisbury to issue bonds in an amount not exceeding the
sum of five hundred and fifty thousand dollars; to create
"The Salisbury Water and Sewer Commission, " and to pre-
