and which bonds the Mayor and Council of Brunswick, in
Frederick County, Maryland, a municipal corporation, is here-
by authorized to make, execute and sell for the purpose of
extending the existing streets and lor making and paying for
permanent improvements on the existing streets, in the town of
Brunswick, in Frederick County, Maryland, provided that the
aggregate of the bonds to be issued under this Act shall not
exceed twenty thousand ($20, 000) dollars.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the Mayor and
Council of Brunswick, in Frederick County, Maryland, is
hereby authorized and empowered to do all things necessary
for the issuance of any such bonds and their sale under the most
advantageous conditions, and it is authorized and required to
levy the necessary taxes upon the taxable property of the cor-
poration to provide for the payment of lie interest on such
bonds, and to create a sinking fund for their payment upon
maturity, and it is authorized to do all other things in con-
nection with the issuance, sale and payment of the bonds at
maturity and interest thereon, as it shall accrue (for the pur-
pose of street extensions and for permanent improvements of
existing streets in said town), provided for under any such
ordinance or ordinances as may be necessary or proper, said
bonds to be issued in such manner, for such amounts, and to
be payable at such time, and to bear such rate of interest as
the Mayor and Council of Brunswick shall by ordinance pro-
vide. And the Mayor and Council of Brunswick may, in their
discretion, issue serial bonds, which shall be redeemable, fall
due or mature in series or in installments; and all bonds issued
in pursuance of this Act shall be exempt from State, county and
municipal taxation.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That at the regular muni-
cipal election of the town of Brunswick, to be held in August,
1924. there shall be submitted to the qualified voters of said
town the question whether the street bonds authorized by this
Act shall be issued, and at such election the ballots cast upon
said question shall have the words "For Street Bond Issue" and
"Against Street Bond Issue" printed thereon and if a majority
of the votes cast upon said question shall be "For Street Bond
Issue, " then the Mayor and Council of Brunswick shall pro-
ceed to execute the power vested in them by this Act. but if a
majority of the votes cast shall be "Against Street Bond Issue. ''
then this Act shall be void and of no effect.
