SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1924.

Approved April 9, 1924.

CHAPTER 453.

AN ACT to authorize the creation of a State debt in the aggre-
gate amount of one hundred and ten thousand dollars
($110, 000), the proceeds thereof to be used for paying the
present indebtedness of St. John's College and providing
generally for the issue and sale of certificates of indebted-
ness evidencing such loan.

(Vetoed. )

CHAPTER 454.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 387, 388, 389, 391 and 392 of
Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title, "Mont-
gomery County, " sub-title "Liquors and Intoxicating
Drinks, " as codified by the Act of 1912, Chapter 790, and to
re-enact the same with amendments, and to add one addi-
tional section to said Article 16, to follow Section 38S
thereof, and be designated as Section 388A, so as to pro-
hibit the gift to a minor or minors and the sale of intoxi-
cating liquors for beverage purposes in said county, and to
prohibit the possession in said county, under certain penal-
ties, of such liquors and of materials or instrumentalities
for the manufacture thereof, with the intent to violate the
law as amended.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 387, 388, 389, 391 and 392 of Article 16
of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Montgomery Coun-
ty, " sub-title, "Liquors and Intoxicating Drinks, " as codified
by the Act of 1912, Chapter 790, be repealed and re-enacted
with amendments, and that one additional section be added to
said Article 16, to follow Section 388 thereof, and be desig-
nated as Section 388A thereof, and so that said Sections 387.
388, 388A, 389, 391 and 392 shall read as follows:

Section 387. That it shall not be lawful for any person or
persons, or any house, company or association, or body corpo-
rate, to sell, directly or indirectly, or to solicit or receive or-
