CHAPTER 415.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments. Section 42
of Article 21 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, title,
"Conveyancing, " sub-title, "Mortgages, " to eliminate the
provision which exempts Baltimore City from said section.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 42 of Article 21 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, title, "Conveyancing, " sub-title, "Mortgages, " be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

42. Whenever any assignment or release of a mortgage, or
any release or assignment of an interest in any deed of trust
is made by a separate deed, or in any other mode than that
prescribed in Sections 34, 36, 37 and 38 of this article, and
whenever any proceedings to foreclose a mortgage is had, or a
sale under any deed of trust is made, it shall be the duty of
the clerks of the Circuit Courts of the Counties and the Clerk
of the Superior Court of Baltimore to enter in the margin of
of the record of the original paper a memorandum of the
place where such deed of assignment or release, or proceeding
of foreclosure, or report of sale, as the case may be, is recorded;
and the clerk making such entry shall charge therefor the sum
of twenty-five cents, to be taxed as part of the fee for record-
ing such assignment or release, or as part of the costs of the
case where there has been a foreclosure of mortgage or sale
under a deed of trust.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1924.

CHAPTER 416.

AN ACT to repeal the Act of 1884, Chapter 181, and the codi-
fication thereof by George R. Dennis, in the Local Code for
Frederick County, and to repeal Section 103 of Article 27
of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Crimes and Pun-
ishments"; sub-title "Drunkenness and Disorderly Con-
duct, " and to re-enact the same so as to make the provisions
thereof applicable to Frederick County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Chapter 181 of the Acts of the General Assembly
