Committee is hereby authorized, empowered and directed to levy
a tax in amount as set forth in the special election, and cause
the same to be collected from the property owners in said
Town of Berwyn, as provided in Section 4 of this Act. In
case the majority of votes shall be in favor of the special levy
and tax such special levy and tax shall be made only for the
year in which the said election is held, at the expiration of
which time there shall only be levied a tax of. 05 cents on
each $100 of real and personal property, as hereinbefore pro-
vided, until a special tax and levy are again authorized in
the manner provided in this section. The special election shall
be held in the manner and form as hereinafter authorized.

SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That the County Com-
missioners of Prince George's County and the Board of Road
Commissioners of said county shall pay to the Berwyn Citi-
zens' Committee, or the Treasurer thereof, three-fourths of all
taxes collected for roads and bridges levied on the property
within the limits of said Town of Berwyn and said sum so
paid shall be expended by the Berwyn Citizen's Committee in
the repairs and improvements of the roadways and streets of
said town, and said payment to include three-fourths of said
taxes so paid on the levy of 1924, in the event that this Act
is adopted by a majority vote of the legally qualified voters
of said Town of Berwyn as hereinafter provided.

SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, That from and after
the passage of this Act until the third Monday in July, 1924,
and said Committee for said Town shall be constituted as fol-
lows: Walter F. Mulligan, J. B. Gaylor, Frank L. Dyer, Wm.
McManus, Arthur B. Gahan, Romeo T. Perry and John N.
Cunningham. The first named shall be the chairman thereof,
and each of whom shall qualify as such Committeeman by
taking oath to diligently and faithfully discharge the duties
of the office, but that on the failure of any one or more of
said Committeemen to qualify within ten days after the pas-
sage of this Act, such position shall be taken and regarded as
vacant, and shall be filled by a bona fide resident of said
Town, who shall likewise be a qualified voter of the State
of Maryland, by a majority of the said Committee to be
filled within two weeks after the expiration of the aforesaid
ten days. On the second Monday in July, 1924, and on
the same day in each and every year thereafter, an election
shall be held in said Town for the election of seven mem-
bers, two members to be elected from each precinct and one
