and Eight At the Parish afd at the Co.ty afd the Jurisdiction of this Court
did Comitt fornication with a certain Rebecca Hurt and then and there did
begett a bastard child on the body of her the Same Rebecca to the high displeasure
of Almighty God contrary to the peace of the Lord prop.ry his good rule & governm.t
& against the form of the Act of Assembly in Such Case lately made & provided &c.a

    Wherefore the afd Attry prayeth the advice of the Court here in the premises for the
Said Lord prop.ry and due process of Law against the afd Ephraim in this part to Issue
to Answer to the Said Lord prop.ry of and upon the premisses &c.a

    And the afd Ephraim Gilbert in his proper person comes and Saith that he
cannot gainsay the Indictm.t afd so as afd against him bro.t nor but that he is guilty of
the premises above upon him imposed as by the afd Indictm.t it is alledged and
thereupon Submitts to the Court  Therefore it is Considered by the Justices
here Att the Court House in the Town of Chester in Said County on the third
tuesday in August being the Nineteenth day of Said Month Anno Dom Seventeen
hundred and twenty Nine That the afd Ephraim pay the Sum of twenty Shillings
Current money for his fine afd for Committing fornication as afd As also pay the Sum
of two hundred and Ninety pds of Tob.o fees accrueing on the premises afd

    The afd Ephraim Gilbert with Pet.r Massey his Surety on the 21.st of June
1729 before M.r Geo Skirven one of the Justices of the peace for Said County Ent.rd into
Recogniz.c to wit the s.d Ephraim in twenty pounds Sterl and the said Pet.r Massey
in ten pounds Sterl for the appear.c of the s.d Ephraim at this Court to Answ.r
unto what Should be objected against him &c.a And now at this Court the Said
Ephraim in his prop.r pson ap.rs And prays the Same Recognizance afd now
be disch.d  Ordered by the Court here that the Same be disch.d no person
Shewing any cause to the Contrary  And Thereupon the s.d Ephraim and
the Said Pet.rs be by this Court here disch.d

    The afd Ephraim is by this Court Com.d to the Custody of Joseph
Young Sher of Said County until the fees afd be paid
he haveing paid the fine

being brought before the Court on Suspicion of
felony who was Com.d by one of the Justices of
this Court appears to same  And now here at
this Court it appears by the Records of this Court
he hath been Convicted of felony and hath Suffered
for the same by whipping & pillory In the year 1716 On which the Court
Committs him into the Custody of the Sherf of Kent County Unto the next
assizes or untill he Shall give Security for the Same

    John Hitchcock on the Sixth day of August Anno Dom. Seventeen
hundred and twenty Nine before M.r Fred.k Hanson Ent.rd into Recog.c
in the Sum twenty pounds Sterl to prosecute the Same

    The Same appears and prays his Recogniz.c may be disch.d  Ordered
by the Court here that the Same be disch.d no person Shewing any Cause to the
