June Court 1729
71 day of s.d Month Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred & twenty nine being ordred to give security on which Thomas Massey & William Burrose both of s.d Coty planters acknowledged themselves Indebted unto the Lord propry of this province of Maryland in the sum of twenty pounds sterl Each Money of Great Brittain to be made & Levyed of there Goods & Chattles Lands & tenements for the use of his s.d Lopp his heirs & Successors Conditionally that if he the s.d John Alexander Shall not make his psonall appearance at the then next Court to answer unto what Shold be objected against him on his Lopp behalf on the information afd & that in the mean time to be of good behaviour and the same being Continued from Court to Court untill this Court here to wit the seventeenth day of June Anno Domini Seventeen hundred & twenty nine prays that there Recognazances may be Discharged no person shewing no cause to the Contrary the s.d John Alexander now here at this Court in his proper person appears thereupon the said Thomas Massy and William Burrose there Recognizances are Discharged
seventeen hundred twenty and eight at the parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court did Commit fornication with a Certain person to the Jurours afd unknown and did permit the same unknown person then & there to have carnal knowledg of her Body & to beget a bastard Child on the body of her the same Sarah to the high Displeasure of Almighty God to the evil example of all others in such case offending contrary to the peace of the said Lord Proprietary that now is his good Rule and Government and against the form of the Act of Assembly in that case made and Provided T frances Cler. pac. And the afd Sarah Lewis in her proper person Comes & saith that She Cannot gain say the Indictment afd so as afd against her brought nor but that she is guilty of the premises upon her imposed as it is by the afd Indictment alledged & thereupon submits to the Court Therefore it is Considered by the Court her viz.t at the Court house in the town of Chester in s.d Co.ty on the third tuesday of June being the Seventeenth day of s.d month anno Domini Seventeen |
