57 by his precept he was Commanded And now here afterwards to wit the Same day and year last mentioned came againe the afd William Bonner in his proper person and the L.d proprietarie by his attry afd And the Jurors of that Jury being Impanelled and called likewise came to wit James Moore William Sinnocks Benjamin Jones Thomas Massy Charles Smith Sam.l Tevey Benj.a Griffith William Dean Joshua Beck Nathaniel Kennard William Tidmarsh Phillip Ricketts who being duly elected tryd & Sworn to say the truth in the premises upon their Oath do Say William Bonner is Guilty of the felony as he Stand Indebted and by James Moore their foreman al so Say Therefore it is Considered by the Court here to wit at the Court House in the Town of Chester in Said County on the third Tuesday in March being the Eighteenth day of Said Month Anno Dom one Thousand Seven hundred and twenty eight That the afd William Bonner Stand in the pillory for the Space of half an hour and that afterwards he Receive at the publick whipping post twenty one Lashes well laid on his bare back till the blood appears as a punishment for his afd Crime of felony according to the force form and effect of the verdict afd Also it is Considered that the said William Bonner pay ^to y.e afd W.m Smith^ the Sume of five hundred and four pounds of Tobacco the four fold of the value of the goods afd being valued at one hundred and twenty Six pds of Tobacco And also the Sume of Eight hundred forty Seven pounds of Tobacco Costs accrueing on the premises afd to the officers of this Court Jam.s Smith Clk It is also Considered by the Court here at this day to wit the Same day and year last mentioned That the Sherf of Kent County take the afd William Bonner into his Custody and Execute the punishment in the Judgment afd Specified and afterwards to bring him into Court again Of which precept the afd Sherf to wit John Gresham Gent high Sherf of Kent County makes return on the day and year last said that he hath Executed the Same Judgment And also hath here ready the said William Bonner before the Court Ordered by the Court here that John Gresham Gent high Sherf of Said County keep the afd William Bonner in Safe Custody untill he Shall pay the four fold in the Judgment afd mentioned and the Cost above Specified &c.a
the third tuesday in March being the Eighteenth day of Said Month Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred and twenty eight came His Lord Ship by Tench Francis Clerk of the Indictments of this Court and desired the same Rebeckah might |
