 1734 June y.e 19  Wee the orphan Jury do present
Charity Spearman for not learning William
Boswell to Write and read according to Indenture

        Test James Greenwood Joseph Reed

    And Command was to the sherrif of Kent County on the
day of June Anno Dom. one thousand seven hundred and thirty
four that he should Sumons the afd Charity to answer unto the
afd presentment &c.a  And that the same sherrif have at the then
next August Court the same sumons

    And now here at the same third tuesday in August being the
twentyeth day of August Anno Dom. one thousand seven hundred
and thirty four came John Gresham Gentl. sherrif of Kent County
and made return thereof to the Court here endorsed as foll. viz.t
sumoned p Jn.o Gresham Sherriff

    And now here at the afd third tuesday in August came the
afd Charity Spearman and in her proper person appeared
and Informed the Court that she was in no sort guilty of the
premisses above said and prayed she might be dischd

    Thereupon it is ordered by this court that the afd Charity
be discharged &c.a        This Court here to wit the same day &
year last mentioned discharges the afd Charity Spearman from
the presentment afd there being Sufficient cause for not
continuing the same any longer

 The same Thomas at last June Court entered
into Recognizance at last June Court for his appearance
to this August Court and in the mean
time he was to be of good behaviour  And now
here at this Court to wit at Kent County at the Court house in the
Town of Chester in said County on the third tuesday in August being
the twentieth day of said Month Anno Dom. one thousand seven
hundred and thirty four came the afd Thomas Alfree and in his
proper person appeared and prayed his Recognizance taken as afd
