1734 at the parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdicion of this Court in and upon William Salisbury of the same County in the peace of God and of the same Lord Proprietary then and there being with force and Arms an assault did make and the same William then and there did beat wound and evilly treat So that of his life it was greatly dispaired and other harms to him then and there did to the great damage of the Same William and against the peace of the Said Lord Proprietary his good rule and Government Wherefore the same Attorney of the said Lord Proprietary for the same Lord proprietary prayeth the advice of the Court here in the premisses and that due process of Law in this part against the afd David may be made to answer unto the said Lord proprietary of and upon the premisses &c.a T francis And the afd Ld prop.ry by his att.ry afd and the afd David Crane in his proper person and Defends the force and injury when &c.a And say that he Cannot gainsay the Information afd So as afd against him brought nor can he say but that he is guilty of the assault in the Information afd as by the same alledged and thereupon Submits to the Court Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at Kent County at the Court House in the Town of Chester in said County on the third tuesday in August being the twentieth day of Said Month Anno Dom. One Thousand Seven hundred and thirty four That the afd David Crane be find the sum of ten Shill.s to the use of his said Lordship his heirs and Successors as a fine for the assault afd in form afd Confest and also the sum of there hundred and ^forty^ accrueing on the premisses afd to the officers of this Court Ordered by this Court that the fine afd be Delivered the Sheriff and at the same Court Came John Gresham Gentl. Sherff of Kent County and Acknowledged the Receipt of the fine afd Ordered by this Court that surety be gave for the fees Thereupon Henry Culley of Kent County Inholder present in Court in his proper person And Acknowledges himself Indebted to the Right Honourable the Lord proprietary in the Sum of Six hundred pounds of Tobacco to be made and Leveyed on his body goods and Chattles Lands and Tenements Conditionally That if the afd David Crane Shall not pay the |
