that now is for the Body of Kent County afd upon their oath do present
that Susanna Hill late of S.t pauls parish in the County afd the wife
of Phillip Hill of the same parish and County Carpenter the first
day of Mary Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred twenty and eight
with force and Arms at the parish afd in the County afd within
the Jurisdiction of this Court four large hanks of drawn thread of the value of
fifteen pounds of Tobacco each of the Goods and Chattles of a Certain William
Beavens then & there being found then & there feloniously did Steal take
and bear away Contrary to the peace of the Said Lord proprietary that now is his good
Rule and Governm.t and against the form of the Act of Assembly in Such Case lately
made and provided

a true bill Pme John Brook foreman

    And the afd Susanna Hill in her proper person cometh and saith that she is
in no Sort guilty of the premisses above upon her imposed as by the afd Indictm.t
it is alledged And therefore She putteth herself upon the Country

    And he who followeth for the Lord proprietarie in like manner Saith She is
guilty

    Thereupon Command was given to the  Sherf of Kent County that he Imediatly
cause to come here twelve &c.a By whom &c.a who neither &c.a So recogniz.c &c.a Being
as well &c.a Of which precept the Said Sherf to wit John Gresham Gentl
now here at this day to wit the Eighteenth day of March Anno Dom. One
thousand Seven hundred and twenty Eight Makes return that he hath here
may twelve &c.a As by the precept so was Commanded And next here afterwards
to wit the day and Year last mentioned come againe the afd Susanna in her
proper person and the afd Lord proprietarie by the attry afd And the
Jurors of that Jury being Impanelled and Called likewise came to wit James
Moore William Sincocks Benjamin Jones Thomas Marsey Charles
