    Att a Court held for Kent County at the Court House in the Town of Chester in Said County
on the Eighteenth day of March & Continued the Nineteenth twentyeth twenty first t twenty
second twenty fourth and twenty fifth days of the Same Month in the fifteenth year
of the Dominion of Charles Absolute Lord & proprietarie of the provinces of Maryland
and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &c.a Annoq Dom. 1729

 Kent County fs.t The Jurors for the right honourable the Lord prop.ry
that now is for the Body of Kent County afd upon their oath do
present that Riddox Blackston late of S.t pauls parish in the County
afd Planter the tenth day of July Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred
twenty and eight at the parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court
to committ fornication with a Certain Mary Slayfoot and then and there did beget a bastard
Child on the body of her the same Mary to the high displeasure of Almighty God to the
Evil Example of all others in Such Case offending contrary to the peace of the Said
Lord prop.ry that now is his good rule and Governm.t and against the form of the Act
of Assembly in Such Case lately made and provided

    On the Back of the Same bill was Endorsed as folls viz.t A true Bill
                                                                                p.a Sam.ll Wickes foreman

    And the afd Riddox Blackston now here at this Court viz.t the Eighteenth day of
March Anno Dom. 1728 In his proper person Comes and Saith that he Cannot gainsay
the Indictment afd So as afd against him bro.t nor but that he is guilty of the
premisses above upon him imposed as by the afd Indictm.t it is alleadged And
thereupon Submits to the Court        Therefore it is Considered b y the Court
here viz at the Court House in the Town of Chester in Said County On the third
tuesday in March being the Eighteenth day of Said Month Anno Dom. Seventeen
hundred and twenty Eight        That the afd Riddox Blackston pay the Sume of
thirty Shilling Current money it being for his fine for Committing of the afd offence
of fornication against an Act of Assembly in Such Case lately made & provided
and also pay the Sum of two hundred and Ninety pounds of Tobacco Costs accruing
on the premisses afd &c.a

    Ordered that Surty for fees be gave On which M.r John Gresham of Said
County came into Court and Saith that he cn.t pay all the fees arising on y.e afd
Indictm.t

    Ordered that Surty be gave to Clear y.e County from the Charge ab.r the Child
On which Christ.n Bateman jun.r and Rich.d Davis both of Said County Planters
came into Court and Acknowledged themselves Indebted to the right honourable
the Lord proprietarie his heirs and Successors in the Sum of five thousand pds
