the first day of November Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred thirty three at the
parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdicion of this Court did Commit fornication
with a Certain Elizabeth Maxwell and of her body then and there
had Carnal knowledge and a bastard child on the body of her the Same
Elizabeth then and there did begit to the high displeasure of Almighty God
to the Evil Example of all others in Such case offending contrary to the
peace of the Said Lord proprietary his good rule and Government
and against the form of the Act of Assembly in Such case made and
provided &c.a  Wherefore the Same attorney of the said Lord proprietary
for the same Lord proprietary prayeth the advice of the Court here in
the premisses and that due process of Law in this part against the
afd Dominick Kenslagh may be made to answer unto the said Lord
proprietary of and upon the premisses &c.a        T francis

    Thereupon Command was given on the same twentieth
day of August Anno Dom. one Thousand seven hundred thirty &
four four in the Twentieth Year of his Lordships Dominion &c.a To the
Sherriff of Kent County that he Should take Dominick Kenslagh
late of S.t pauls parish in the County afd Planter if he Should be
found in his bailiwick and him safe keep so that he have
his body before the Justices of our Said County Court to be held
at our Court House in the Town of Chester in Said County on the
third tuesday in August Instant and Immediately to Answer
unto an Information of fornication with Elizabeth Maxwell
and that the Same Sherriff have at the time and place
afd the same writt &c.a

    Att which said Court to wit at Kent County at the Court house in the
Town of Chester in Said County on the third tuesday in August being
the twentieth day of Said Month Anno Dom. One Thousand Seven
hundred and thirty four being the day of return of Said Writt
came John Gresham Gentl. Sherriff of Kent County and made
return thereof to the Court here endorsed as foll. viz.t Cepi Corpus
                                                    p Jn.o Gresham Sherriff

    And now here at this Court to wit the same third tuesday in August
the same day and year last mentioned Came the afd his Lordship by
his attorney afd And the Same Dominick in his proper
person came and Saith that he cannot gainsay the Information afd
So as afd against him brought nor can he say but that he is guilty
