of this Court did Commmit fornication with a person to the Jurors afd unknown and did permit
the Same unknown person then and there to have carnal knowledge of her body and a bastard
child on the body of her the same Mary then and there to beget which Same bastard child
the Said Mary afterward to wit the tenth day of March Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred
thirty and two at the parish and County afd and within the Said Jurisdicion did bear ag.st
the peace of the Said Lord prop.ry his good rule and Government and against the
form of the Act of Assembly in Such case lately made and provided        T francis

    On the Same Indictment was endorsed as foll. viz.t True bill by me Rob.t Dunn foreman

    And now here at this Court to wit at Kent County at the Court House in the Town of
Chester in Said County on the third tuesday in March being the nineteenth day of Said Month
Anno Dom. One Thousand Seven hundred and thirty three Came the Lord prop.ry
by Tench Francis his attorney and prayed the afd Mary Graves might answer unto
the afd Indictment And The afd Mary Graves came and in her proper person
Appeared and Saith that She Cannot gainsay the Indictment afd So as afd against
her brought nor but that She is guilty of the premisses above upon her Imposed
as by the afd Indictment it is alledged And thereupon Submits to the Court

    Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit the Same day and Year last
mentioned That the afd Mary Graves at the Expiration of her Service which
She is to Compleat She Serve Seven Years ^to the use of the afd County^ for her Commiting the offence
afd in form afd Confest According to Act of Assembly in Such case lately made and
provided  And also pay the Sum of Two hundred and forty two    pounds of
Tobacco fees accrueing to the officers of this Court on the premisses afd

    Ordered by this Court that the afd Mary Graves for the Loss time in bareing the afd Child disgraced
her Masters house Charge in bringing to bed She Serve at the Expiration of her time
of Service one whole year to the Same Arthur Miller his heirs or assignes

 Command was given on the nineteenth day of March in the Seventh
Year of his Lordships Dominion &c.a Anno Dom. One Thousand Seven
hundred and thirty three  To the Sherrif of Kent County that he should
take Mary Graves late of S.t Pauls Parish in the County afd Spinster
then and there a free Mullatto and the Servant of Arthur Miller of
the same Parish and County Gentl. if She Should be found in his bailiwick and her Safe keep So as
to have her body before the Justices of our County Court now held for the Same County at the
Court House in the Town of Chester in Said County Immediately to Answer
unto a Certain Indictment for Committing fornication and Suffering herself to begett a
Child of a bastard Contrary &c.a  And that the Same Sherrif have at the Same Court the
Same Writt &c.a

    And Now here afterwards to wit at Kent County at the Court House in the Town of Chester in
Said County on the Same day and year afd Came John Gresham Gent. Sherrif of Said County
Made return to the Court here hereafter endorsed as foll. viz.t Cepi Corpus p Jn.o Gresham
