Command was given on the twenty eighth day of November in the
nineteenth year of his Lordships Dominion &c.a Anno Dom. One Thousand
Seven hundred and thirty three To the Sherrif of Kent County that he
Should take Mary Graves late of S.t pauls Parish in the County afd
Spinster Serv.t to Arthur Miller if She Shall be found in his Bailiwick and him Safe keep So
that he have his body before the Justices of our next County Court to be held at our Court house
in the Town of Chester in Said County on the third tuesday in March then next ensueing to
Answer unto an Indictment for Commiting fornication and Suffering her Self to be begett with
a bastard Child &c.a  And that the Same Sherrif have at the Same Court the said wit &c.a
Att which Said Court to wit at Kent County at the Court House in the Town of Chester in Said
County on the third tuesday in March being the nineteenth day of Said Month Anno Dom. one
Thousand Seven hundred and thirty three being the day of return of Said Wit came John
Gresham Gentl. Sherrif of Said County and made return to the Court here thereof endorsed as foll.
viz.t Cepi Corpus p Jn.o Gresham Sherff

    Kent County fs.t The Jurors for the Right honourable the Lord prop.ry that now is for Kent
County afd upon their Oath do present that Mary Graves late of S.t Pauls Parish in the County
afd Servant to Arthur Miller the tenth day of February Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred thirty
& two at S.t Pauls Parish afd in Kent County afd within the Jurisdicion of the Court did Commit
fornication with a Certain person to the Jurors afd unknown and did permit the Same unknown
person then and there to have Carnal knowledge of her body and to beget then and there a bastard
Child on the body of her the Same Mary Graves to the high Displeasure of Almighty God to
the Evil Example of all others in Such Case offending Contrary to the peace of the Said Lord
prop.ry that now is his good Rule and Government and against the form of the Act of
Assembly in that Case made and provided                        T francis

    On the Same Indictment was endorsed as foll. viz.t A true bill p Edwd Worrell foreman

    And now here at this Court to wit at Kent County at the Court House in the Town of Chester
in Said County on the third tuesday in March being the Nineteenth day of Said Month Anno
Dom. One Thousand Seven hundred and thirty three Came the afd Lord prop.ry by his att.ry afd
and the afd Mary Graves in her proper person  And the Same Lord prop.ry by his Said
attorney Saith that for as much as he hath not Evidence Sufficient to maintain the afd
Charge in the Indictment afd Specified against the Said Mary Graves he will not prosecute
the same Indictment any further        Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to
wit the day and Year last mentioned That the afd Mary Graves as to the Indictment afd
She go thereof without day and be therefrom acquitted Also it is Considered that the
Said Mary Graves pay the Sum of Four Two hundred ^Eighty^ two pounds of Tobacco Costs
Accrueing on the premisses afd to the officers of this Court
