Sterling for the appearance of the afd Jane Flaningham be discharged there being no
cause Shewn to the Contrary

    Kent County fs.t  The Jurors for the Right Honourable the Lord
Proprietary that now is for Kent afd upon their oath do
present that Jane Flanagan Late of Shrewsbury Parish in the
County afd Spinster the tenth day of Aprill Anno Dom.
Seventeen hundred thirty and three at the Parish afd in the
County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court did commit fornication
with a Certain person to the Jurors afd unknown and
Did permit the same unknown person then and there to have
Carnal knowledge of her body and to beget then and there a bastard
Child on the body of her the same Jane to the high Displeasure
of Almighty God to the Evil Example of all others in Such Case
offending Contrary to the peace of the said Lord prop.ry that now
is his good rule and Government and against the form of the Act of
Assembly in that Case made and Provided        T francis

    The Same Indictm.t was indorsed a True Bill p Edw.d Worrell forman
And now here at this Court to wit at the ^Kent^ Court house in the Town of
Chester in said County on the third tuesday in March being the
Nineteenth day of said month Anno Dom. one Thousand Seven
hundred and thirty three came the afd Jane Flaningham and in her
proper person appeared and saith that she cannot gainsay the
Indictment afd ^so as afd^ against her brought nor can she say but that She is
guilty of the premisses above her imposed as by the afd Indictment
it is alleged and thereupon Submits to Te Cort &c.a  Therefore it is
Considered by the Justices here to wit the same Day & Year Last
Mentioned That the afd Jane Flaningham be find the Sum of
thirty Shillings Current money as fine for Committing the offence of
fornication in form afd Confest According to Act of Assembly in Such Case made
&c.a  And also pay the Sum of Two hundred Sixty Seven        pounds of
Tobacco Costs accrueing on the premisses afd to the officers of this Court

    Ordered by this Court That the fine afd be Deliverd to the Sherf of Kent County
And now here at this Court came the afd Sherf and Acknowledged that he hath payed
the fine afd &c.a

    Ordered by this Court that Surety be gave for fees Thereupon Henry
Spencer of Kent County planter and present in Court in his proper person and
acknowledged himself Indebted to the Right Hon.rble the Lord prop.ry of the province
of Maryland that if in case he doth not pay to the officers of this Court all the
fees Accrueing on the premisses than the same fees to be Leveyed on his body
