November Court 1733 Kent County planters and present in their proper persons in Court Cometh and Acknowledged themselves indebted to the Right Hon.rble the lord proprietary in the Sum of ten pounds Sterling money of Great Brittaine ^Each^ to be made and Leveyed on their body Goods and Chattles Lands and Tenements Conditionally that if the afd David Jones Shall not appear and Answ.r any time during the Court Sitting to what Shall be objected against him on his Lordships behalf and in the mean time he is to be of good behaviour wherewith they acknowledge themselves to be Content After which the Court orders that Information be by M.r Tench Francis Clk of Indictments of this Court Exhibited against the afd David Jones for the offence afd After which the afd David in his proper person comes into Court and appears to the afd Recognizance And prays that the Same may be discharged Ordered by this Court that the Same Recognizances Each of them be discharged David Jones afd his Recognizance taken in the Sum of Twenty pounds as afd Is by this Court here discharged there being no Cause Shewn to the Contrary &c.a And also Griffith Jones and Edward Rogers jun.r in the Sum of Ten pounds Sterling Each for the appearance of the afd David Jones And to Answer as afd The Same Recogniz.c Each are by this Court here discharged there being no cause Shewn to the Contrary Kent County fs Memorandum that Tench Francis Gent. attorney of the right Honourable the Lord prop.ry that now is for the County afd who for the Same Lord prop.ry in this part prosecuteth doth come here into Kent County Court before James Harris Esq.r and his associates his Lordships Justices of the Same County to wit at Chester Town in the afd County the twentieth day of November Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred thirty & three and for the Same Lord prop.ry doth give the Court here to understand and be informed that David Jones late of S.t Pauls Parish in the County afd Planter and duly Summoned to Serve before the Same Court this present Sessions as a Grand Juror and that the Same David the Said twentieth day of November in the Court House of the Said Lord prop.ry for the County afd before the Same Court judicially sitting there being in the presence and hearing of many liege Subjects of our Lord the King that now is unlawfully and Contemptuously did Say Speak and with a loud voice pronounce & publish these Contemptuous and approbrious English words (to wit) If they (the Court afd) meaning) do not discharge me (from the Service of Grand Jury as afd meaning) I the afd David meaning) will not Serve (would not serve as a grand Juror as afd meaning) And that the Court [The Same Court meaning] might do what the devil put in their heads to the Contempt of the Said Lord prop.ry and his laws & to the evil Example of all others in Such case offending Wherefore the afd attorney prayeth the advice of the Court here in the premisses for the said Lord prop.ry and due process of Law against the afd David in this part to Issue to Answer to the Said Lord prop.ry of and upon the premisses &c.a T francis And the afd David Jones in his proper person appears and Saith that he Cannot gainsay the Information afd So as afd against him brought nor but that he is guilty of the premisses above upon him imposed as by the afd Indictment it is alledged and thereupon Submits to The Court Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at Kent County at the Court House in the Town of Chester of Said County on the third tuesday in November being the twentieth day of Said Month |
