November Court 1798 is alledged and thereof he putteth himself upon the Country Tho.s Hill in p.a psona And he who followeth for the Lord prop.ry in like manner Saith he is guilty T Francis p L.d prop.ry Thereupon Command was given to the Sherf of Kent County that he Imediately cause to Come here twelve &c by whom &c who neither &c to recognize &c because as well &c of which said precept the said Tho.s to wit John Gresham Gent now here at this day to wit the ninteenth day of Nov.r Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred twenty & Eight makes return that he hath here ready twelve &c as by his precept he was Commanded And now here afterwards to wit the day & year last mentioned Come again the afd Lord prop.ry by Tench Francis his Attorney and the afd Tho.s Hill in his proper person afd And the Jurors of that Jury being Impannelled and called likewise Came to wit Edward Worrell, Arth.r Foreman Edward Rogers Jun.r, Robert Dunn jun.r, W.m Cain Charles Smith, Roger Hailes, W.m Sincocks, Nich.o Reiley, Francis Thomas, Thomas Medford Philip Reason, who being duly Elected tryed & Sworn to say the truth in the premisses upon their Oath do say that the afd Thomas Hill is guilty as he stands indicted And by Edw.d Worrell their foreman they allso say Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at the Court house in the Town of Chester in said County this ninteenth day of Nov.r Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and twenty Eight that the afd Thomas Hill stands on the pillory for the space of One hour And that afterwards he receive at the publick whiping post twenty one |
