423 And now here at the third tuesday in August being the twenty first day of Said Month Anno Domini One thousand Seven hundred and Thirty three Came the afd John English and in his proper person appeared and prayd he might be discharged from the afd Recogniz.c and his Surety Ordered by this Court here that the Same be Disch.d as prayd John English afd in the Sum of ten pounds Sterling for his ap.rc and to answer as afd &c.a this Court here discharges the Same Recognizance there being no cause Shewn to the Contrary &c.a James Ringgold afd his recognizance taken as afd in the Sum of five pounds Sterl for the appearance of the afd John English to answ.r as afd This Court here discharges the Same recognizance there being no cause Shewn to y.e Contrary
his proper person Acknowledged himself Indebted to the Right honorable the Lord proprietary that now is In the Sum of five pounds Sterling money of great brittaine to be made and Leveyed on his body goods and Chattles Lands and Tenements to the use of his Said Lord Ship his heirs and Successors Conditionally that if he does not make his personall appearance at the next Court to be held for Said County at the Court House in the Town of Chester in Said County on the third tuesday in August then next ensueing to give his Evidence on behalf of his Said Ld ship against the afd John English and not to depart the Same Court without leave Wherewith the afd himself Content C.s hynson Thomas Piner and Peter Cowarding Sworn to the grand Jury as Evidences ag.st the afd John English The Grand Jury thereupon afterwards returns the foll. bill viz.t Kent County fs.t The Jurors for the Right hon.rble the Lord prop.ry that now is for Kent County afd upon their Oath do present that John English of S.t Pauls Parish in the County Planter the twenty Second day of July Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred thirty and three at the parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdicion of the Court in and upon Thomas Piner in the peace of God and the Said Lord prop.ry then and there being with force and Arms an assault did make and he the Said Thomas then and there did beat wound and evilly treat So that of his life it was much dispaired and other harms to him then and there did to the great Damage of the Said Thomas and against the peace of the Said Lord prop.ry his rule and Government T francis Cler. pac. Test Thomas Piner Peter Cowarding The Same Indictment was endorsed as foll. viz.t true bill p Simon Wilmer foreman And the afd John English in his proper person comes and Saith that he Cannot gainsay the Indictment afd So as afd against him brought nor Can he Say but that he is guilty of the assault above mentioned as by the afd Indictment it is alledged and Thereupon Submits to the Court Likewise |
