 John James
 Kent County fs.t Memorandum that
Tench Francis Gent Attorney of the
right honourable the Lord prop.ry that
now is for the County afd who for the same Lord prop.ry in
this part prosecuteth doth come here into Kent County
Court before W.m Frisby Esq.r and his Associates his
Lordships Justices of the same County Court to wit at
Chester Town in the afd county the ninteenth day of Nov.r
Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred twenty & Eight And
for the same Lord prop.ry doth give the Court here to
Understand & be informed that John James of S.t pauls
Parish in the County afd planter the tenth day
of June Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred twenty
and Eight at the parish afd in the County afd within
the Jurisdiction of this Court did Committ Adultery
with a Certain Mary Jones And then & there did begett
a bastard Child on the body of her the same Mary to the
high Displasure of Almighty God to the evil example
of all others in such Case offending Contrary to
the peace of the said Lord prop.ry that now is his good
rule & Government and against the form of the
Act of Assembly in such Case lately made and
provided wherefore the afd Attorney prayeth the
peace of the Court here in the premisses for the said
Lord prop.ry and due process of Law against the afd John
James in this part to ^Isue to^ Answer unto the said Lord prop.ry
of and upon the premisses &c.a

    Also if the afd John in his proper person Comes and
Defends the force & injury upon &c he did saith that
he cannot gainsay the afd Information so as afd
against him brought nor but that he is guilty of
the premisses above upon him Imposed as by the
afd Information It is alledged And thereupon
