Came the afd Rachel Dowlin and in her proper person Saith that She Cannot
gainsay the Indictment afd So as afd against her brought nor but Can She Say but
that She is guilty of the premisses above upon her Imposed as by the afd
Indictment it is alledged And thereupon Submits to the Court

    Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit the Same day
and Year last mentioned That the afd Rachel Dowlin to have on her bare back
Six Lashes well laid on as a punishment for the Commiting the offence afd
in form afd Confest and also pay the Sum of four hundred twenty three
pounds of tobacco cost accrueing on the premisses afd to the officers of this
Court

    It is also Considered by the Court here at this day to wit the Same day
and Year last mentioned that the Sherrif of Kent County take the afd Rachel
Dowlin into his Custody and Execute the punishm.t in the Judgment afd Specified
and after wards to bring her into Court againe    Of which precept to wit
John Gresham Gentl high Sherrif of Kent County makes return on the day and year
last mentioned That he hath Executed the punishment in the Judgment afd
and also hath here the Said Rachel Dowlin before the Court

    Ordered  by this Court here that John Gresham Gentl Sherrif of Said
County keep the afd Rachel Dowlin in Safe Custody untill the fees afd shall be
Satisfied

    Ordered by this Court that the Same Rachel prove the begetter upon
which being Sworn Declared John Howell to be the person that
Committed the fornication with her and beget with Child of the
Same above mentioned  Ordered by this Court That the Same
Rachel be Sworn and Sent to the Grand Jury against Same which ^was accordingly done^

Kent County that he take Sarah Lewis
of S.t Pauls Parish in the County afd Spinster if
She Should be found in your Bailiwick and her Safe keep So that he
have her body before the Justices of our next County Court to be held
at our Court House in the Town of Chester in Said County on the third
tuesday in August then next ensueing to Answer unto a Certain
Indictment for Commiting fornication &c.a and begitting a bastard Child
And that the Same Sherrif have at the ________________________
