James Ringgold
Command was given on the twenty Sixth day of
March Anno Dom. one thousand Seven hundred
and thirty three To the Sherrif of Kent County
that he take James Ringgold late of S.t Pauls
Parish in the County afd Gentl the Son of Charles Ringgold if he Should
be found in the bailiwick and him Safe keep So that he have his body
before the Justices of our next County Court to be held at our Court house in
the Town of Chester in Said County on the third tuesday in June then
next ensueing to Answer unto a Certain Information Exhibited in our
Said Court for Commiting fornication with Dorcas Cleaver and begett
a bastard Child &c.a  And that the Same Sherrif have then at the
Said Court the Same Writ &c.a

    Att which Said Court to wit at Kent County at the Court House in
the Town of Chester in Said County on the third tuesday in June being the
nineteenth day of Said Month Anno Dom. One Thousand Seven hundred
and Thirty three being the day of return of Said Writ Came John Gresham
Gentl. Sherrif of Said County and made return to the Court here thereof
endorsed as foll. viz.t Cepi Corpus p Jn.o Gresham Sherff

    Kent County fs.t  Memorandum that Tench Francis Gent attorney of
the right honourable the Lord proprietary that now is for the County afd who
for the Same Lord prop.ry in this part prosecuteth doth come here into
Kent County Court before William Frisby Esq.r and his associates his Lordships
Justices of the Same County to wit at Chester Town in the afd County
the twentieth day of March Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred thirty & two
and for the Same Lord prop.ry doth give the Court hereto understand and be
informed that James Ringgold late of S.t Pauls Parish in the County afd
Gent the Son of Charles Ringgold the tenth day of June Anno Dom.
Seventeen hundred thirty & two at the parish afd within the
jurisdicion of this Court did commit fornication with Dorcas Cleaver
and then and there did beget a bastard child on the body of her the
Same Dorcas against the form of the Act of Assembly in Such case
made and provided wherefore the afd attorney prayeth the advice
of the Court here in the premisses for the Said Lord prop.ry and due
process of Law against the afd James in this part to Issue to Answer
to the Said Lord proprietary of and upon the premisses &c.a

    And the afd James Ringgold in his proper person comes and Saith
