    Att which Said Court held at Kent County at the Court house in the Town of Chester
in Said County on the third tuesday in March being the twentieth day of Said Month Anno
Dom. One Thousand Seven hundred and thirty two being the day of Said Writ
return came John Gresham Gentl Sherrif of Said County and made return to the Court
here thereof endorsed as foll. viz.t Cepi Corpus p Jn.o Gresham Sherrif

    Kent County  The Jurors for the Right Honourable the Lord proprietary that now
is for Kent County afd upon their Oath do present that Mary Ryley late of Shrewsbury
Parish in the County afd Spinster the tenth day of June Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred
thirty & two at the Parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdicion of this Court
did Commit Fornication with a Certain person to the Jurors afd unknown and did
permit the Same unknown person then and there to have Carnal knowledge of her
body and to beget then and there two Bastard Children on the body of her the
Same Mary to the high displeasure of Almighty God to the evil Example of
all others in Such Case offending Contrary to the peace of the Said Lord proprietary
that now is his good Rule and Government & against the form of the Act of
Assembly in that case made and provided                        T francis Cler. pac.

                                 On the Same Indictm.t was endorsed viz.t Billa Vera
                                                                        p Simon Wilmer foreman

    And the afd Mary Ryley in her properson comes and Saith that She Cannot gainsay
the Indictment afd So as afd against her brought nor but that She is guilty of
the premisses above upon her imposed as by the afd Indictment it is alledged
And thereupon Submits to the Court  Therefore it is Considered by
the Justices here to wit at Kent County at the Court House in the Town of Chester
in Said County on the third tuesday in March being the twentieth day of Said Month
Anno Dom. One Thousand Seven hundred and thirty two That the afd Mary
Reyly pay the Sum of Thirty Shillings Current money of the province afd
as a fine for the Use of the afd County for Commiting the fornication afd in
form afd Confest and also pay the Sum of three hundred and twenty
five                                pounds of Tobacco costs accrueing on the premisses
afd to the officers of this Court

    Ordered by this Court that Surety be gave for the fine afd and fees
Thereupon William Santtiers of Kent County Planter present in Court in
his proper person and Acknowledges himself indebted to the Right hon.rble
the Lord prop.ry in the Sum of thirty Shill Current money of the province
of Maryland to be made and Leveyed to be on his body goods and Chattles
Lands and Tenement to the use of the afd Coty to be paid at or before
the tenth day of November next ensueing And also ^pay^ all other fees
accrueing to the officers of this Court on the premisses afd

    It is Ordered by this Court that the afd Mary give Surety
appear at any time dureing this court sitting to answ.r as afd
