378                                June Court 1733

hundred and thirty three being the day of return of Said writ Came
John Gresham Gentl Sherrif of Said County and made return of Said
writ thereof to the Court here endorsed as foll. viz.t Cepi Corpus
                                                                p Jn.oGresham Sherf.

    Kent County fs.t  The Jurors for the Right Honourable the Lord
prop.ry that now is for Kent County afd upon their Oath Do present
that Elenor Ogelby Late of S.t Pauls Parish in the County afd Spinster
the tenth Day of August Anno Domini Seventeen hundred thirty and
two at teh parish afd in the County afd wihtin the Jurisdicion
of this Court Did Commit fornication with a Certain person to the
Jurors afd unknown and did permit the Same unknown person
then and there to have Carnal knowledge of her body and to beget
then and there a bastard Child on the body of her the Same Eleanor
to the high Displeasure of Almighty God to the evil Example
of all others in Such case offending Contrary to the peace of the
Said Lord proprietarie that now is his good rule and Government
and against the form of the Act of Assembly in that case made
and provided                                T francis Cler. pac.
    On the Same was endorsed as foll. viz.t Bella Vera
                                                            p Simon Wilmer foreman

    And the afd Elenor Ogleby in her proper person comes and Saith
that She Cannot gainsay the Indictment afd So as afd against her
brought nor but that She is guilty of the premisses above upon
her Imposed as by the afd Indictment it is alledged and thereupon
Submits to the Court  Therefore it is Considered by the Justices
here to wit at Kent County at the Court House in the Town of Chester
in Said County on the third tuesday in June being teh Nineteenth
day of Said Month Anno Dom. One Thousand Seven hundred and
thirty three That the afd Elenor Ogleby pay the Sum of thirty
Shillings Current money as a fine to the use of the Coty for
Commiting teh fornication afd in form afd Confest and also
pay the Sum of three hundred twenty five pounds of Tobacco
cost accrueing on the premisses afd to teh officers of this Court   

    Ordered by this Court that the afd Elenor Ogelby be Commited
for teh fine afd  And That John Gresham Gentl. Sherrif of
Said County keep the afd Elenor untill the afd fine be paid &c.a

    Ordered by this Court that the afd Elenor Ogelby be Commited
