five hundred pounds of tobacco and Joseph Nicholson twenty five Shillings
Current money of the Province of Maryland a fines for Commiting the assault afd
as afd Confessed to be paid for the use of his Lord Ship and also pay the
Sum of three hundred and thirty one pounds of Tobacco Costs accrueing
on the premisses afd to the officers of this Court

 Command was given on the twenty Sixth day of March
Anno Dom. One Thousand Seven hundred thirty and three
To the Sherrif of Kent County that he take Mary Bezely
late of S.t Pauls Parish in the County afd Spinster if She Should
be found in his bailiwick and her Safe keep So that he have her body before
the Justices of our next County Court to be held at our Court House in the Town of Chester
in Said County on the third tuesday in June then next ensueing to answer unto a Certain
Indictment now in our Said Court for Commiting fornication with a Certain person
unknown person to have Carnal knowledge of her body and to begit a bastard Child
&c.a  And that the Same Sherrif have at the Said Court the Said Writ &c.a

    At which Said Court to wit at Kent County Court house in the Town of Chester in
Said County on the third tuesday in June being the nineteenth day of Said Month
Anno Dom. One Thousand Seven hundred and thirty three being the day of
return of Said Writ Came John Gresham Gentl Sherrif of Said County and made
return to the Court here thereof endorsed as foll viz.t Cepi Corpus

    Kent County fs  The Jurors for the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary
that now for Kent County afd upon their Oath do present that Mary Bezely
late of S.t Pauls Parish in the County afd Spinster the tenth day of August Anno Dom.
Seventeen hundred thirty & two at the parish afd in the County afd within
the Jurisdicion of this Court did Commit fornication with a Certain person to
the Jurors afd unknown and did permit the Same unknown person then and
there to have Carnal Knowledge of her body and to beget then and there
a bastard Child on the body of ^her^ the Same Mary to the high Displeasure of
Almighty God to the Evil Example of all others in Such Case offending
Contrary to the peace of the Said Lord prop.ry that now is his good rule and
Government and against the form of the Act of Assembly in that case made

On the Same was endorsed viz.t Billa Vera p Simon Wilmer foreman

    And the afd Mary Bezely in her proper person comes and Saith that She
Cannot gainsay the Indictment afd So as afd against her brought nor but
that She is guilty of the premisses above upon her Imposed as by the
afd Indictment it is alledged And Thereupon Submits to the Court
