                        On the back of the Same Indictment was endorsed as foll. viz.t
                        A true bill p James Moore foreman

    And the afd John Coleman in his proper person cometh and Saith that he is in
no Sort guilty of the premisses above upon him Imposed as by the afd Indictment
it is alledged and thereof he putteth himself upon the Country

    And he who followeth for the Lord prop.ry in like manner Saith he is guilty

    Thereupon Command was given to the Sherif of Kent County that he
immediately cause to come here twelve &c.a by whom &c.a who neither &c.a To
Recognize &c.a because as well &c.a Of which Said precept the Said Sherrif to
wit John Gresham Gentl. now here at this day to with the twentieth day of
March Anno Dom. One Thousand Seven hundred and thirty two makes
Return that he hath here ready twelve &c.a as by his precept he was
Commanded And now here afterwards to wit the day and year last mentioned
Come againe the afd Lord prop.ry by his attorney afd and the afd John Coleman
in his proper person and the Jurors of that Jury being Impanneled
and called likewise Came to wit Robert Dunn Morgan Hurt Robert Roberts
William Deane Richard Knowlsman William Moore Daniel Bryan
and John Hankin who being duely elected tryed and Sworn to Say the
truth in the premisses upon their Oath do Say John Coleman is guilty of
the felony above upon Imposed as by the afd Indictment it is alledged
and by Robert Dunn there foreman all So Say        Therefore it is
Considered by the Justices here to wit at Kent County at the Court House
in the Town of Chester in Said County on the third tuesday in March being
the twentieth day of Said Month Anno Dom. One Thousand Seven hundred
and thirty two That the afd John Coleman Stand the Space of half an
hour in the pillory and then at the publick whipping post to Receive on
his bare back fifteen Lashes well laid on till the blood appear and also
pay the four fold of the afd goods (value two hundred pounds of tobacco)
The whole Amounting to Eight hundred pounds of Tobacco as a
punishment for Commiting the felony afd according to the force form and
effect of the verdict afd Also it is Considered that the Said John
Coleman pay the Sum of Seven hundred thirty and Nine pounds
of Tobacco Costs Accrueing on the premisses afd to the officers of this Court
