March Court 1732 in the Sum of ten pounds Sterling for the appearance of the afd John Coleman at this Court to answer the Indictment of felony for Stealing goods of Benjamin Burton And in the mean time he was to be of good behav.r &c.a The Same John Coleman in his proper person appears and prays the Same Recog.c may be disch.d Ordered by this Court that the Same Recognizance be discharged The afd Recognizance is by this Court here discharged there being no cause Shewn to the Contrary Ordered by this Court That the Same John Coleman give Surty to answer this afd Indictment dureing the Courts Sitting Thereupon Hannah Bodeen of Kent County Widow present in Court in her proper person cometh and acknowledges herself Indebted to The Right Hon.rble the Lord prop.ry in the Sum of ten pounds Sterling to be Leveyed on her body goods and Chattles Lands and Tenements to the use of his Said Lordship his heirs and Successors Conditionally that if the Said John Coleman doth not answer the Indictment for Commiting felony and Stealing goods of Benjamin Burton and to be of good behaviour in the mean time wherewith She acknowledges herself Content After which the afd John Coleman app.rs According to the tenour of the afd Recogniz.c and prays the Same be disch.d Ordered by this Court here that the Same Recogniz.c be disch.d The Same Recognizance is by this Court here disch.d There being no cause Shewn to the Contrary &c.a
hundred thirty and two with force and Arms at the parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdicion of this Court one waistcoat made of Durey of the Value of fifty pounds of tobacco and one pair of Shoes of the Value of fifty pounds of tobacco of the Goods and Chattles of Benjamin Burton then and there being found then and there feloniously did Steal take and bear away Contrary to the peace of the Said Lord prop.ry his good rule and government and against the form of the Act of Assembly in Such case lately made and provided T francis Cler. pac. Test Henry Evans On the back of the Same was endorsed as foll. viz.t A true bill p James Moore foreman And the afd John Coleman in his proper person cometh and Saith that he is in no Sort guilty of the premisses above upon him imposed as by the afd Indictment it is alledged and thereof he putteth himself upon the Country John Coleman in prop.r pson And he who followeth for the Lord prop.ry in like manner Saith he is guilty T francis p Ld p.ry |
