M.r John Gresham acknowledges that he hath Received the fine afd

    Ordered by the Court here that Security be gave to the County indemnified
from any charge that hath or Shall accrue by means of the afd bastard Child

    Thereupon comes into Court Thomas Stalker of Kent County planter and
Acknowledged himself indebted to the Right Honourable the Lord prop.ry in the Sum
of five Thousand pounds of Tobacco to be paid to his Said Lord Ship his heirs
and Successors and to be made and Leveyed on his body goods and Chattells
Lands and Tenements Conditionally That if the afd bastard Child beget on the
day of the afd Eliz.a Carr Shall not be of any charge to this County wherewith
he the Same Thomas Stalker acknowledges himself Content

Kent County fs  Memorandum that Tench Francis Gent
attorney of the right honourable the Lord prop.ry that now is
for the County afd who for the Same Lord prop.ry in this part
prosecuteth doth come here into Kent County Court before William Frisby Esq.r and his
associates his Lordships Justices of the Same County to wit at Chester Town in the afd
County the twenty first day of June Anno Domini Seventeen hundred thirty and two
and for the Same Lord prop.ry doth give the Court here to understand and be informed
that Richard Houghton late of S.t Pauls Parish in the County afd Labourer the
tenth day of June Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred thirty and one at the parish
afd in the County afd within the Jurisdicion of this did Commit fornication with
Sarah Boyer and then & there did beget a bastard child on the body of the Same
Sarah contrary to the peace of the Said Lord prop.ry his good rule and Governm.t
and against the form of the Act of Assembly in Such case made & provided &c.a

    Wherefore the afd Attorney prayeth the advice of the Court here in the premisses
for the Said Lord prop.ry and due process of Law against the afd Richard in this part
to Isue to answer to the Said Lord prop.ry of and upon the premisses &c.a

    And the afd Richard Houghton here into Court in his proper person cometh
and Saith that he Cannot gainsay the Information afd So as afd against him brought
nor can he Say but that he is guilty of the premisses above of Committing the
fornication with the afd Sarah Boyer as afd mentioned  And thereupon Submits
to the Court        Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at a Court
held for Kent County at the Court House in the Town of Chester in Said County on the third
tuesday in June being the twentieth day of SAid Month Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred &
thirty two That the afd Richard Houghton pay the Sum of thirty Shillings Current
money as a fine for Commiting the fornication afd in form afd Confest as part
it is Considered that the Same Richard pay the sum of two hundred and
Eleven pounds of Tobacco costs and Charges accrued on the premisses afd &c.a

    Ordered by this Court that the Same Rich.d Houghton Enter into Recognizaance
give Security for the fees afd  Thereupon John Houghton & James Stout recogniz.c
