Kent County fs Memorandum that Tench Francis Gent
Attorney of the right honourable the Lord prop.ry
that now is for the County afd who for the Same Lord
in this part prosecuteth doth come here into Kent
County Court before William Frisby Esq.r and his associates his Lordships
Justices of the Same County to wit at Chester Town in the County afd the
Sixteenth day of November Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred thirty & one and
for the Same Lord prop.ry doth give the Court here to understand and be informed
that Laughlin Flinn of Chester Town afd in the County afd Inholder and Margaret
his wife the twenty Sixth day of Aprill Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred thirty and one
at the parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdicion of this Court wittingly
and willingly and without any leave or lisence from any person first had or
obtained did barter deal with and receive of and from Arthur Atkinson the
proper Servant of James Holyday Esq.r (the same James then and there an
inhabitant of this province of Maryland being) one hundred pounds of
bacon of the value of two pounds and ten Shillings Current money of
Maryland eleven pounds of hogs lard of the value of five Shillings &
Six pence like money two Iron potts and hooks of the value of Sixteen
Shillings like money one Trunk of the value eight Shillings like money
one fire Shovel of the value of two Shillings like money one pare of
fire tongs of the like value and one pair of blanketts of the value
of ten Shillings like money Contrary to the peace of the Said Lord p.rp.ry
his good rule & government and against the form of the Act of assembly
in Such case made and provided  Wherefore the afd attorney prayeth
the advice of the Court herein the premisses for the Said Lord prop.ry in
due process of Law against the afd Laughlin & Margaret in this part to
issue to answer to the Said Lord prop.ry of and upon the premisses &c.a

    And the afd Tench Francis attorney of the Said Lord prop.ry
cometh and Saith that for as much as he hath not Evidence
Sufficient to maintain the afd Charge in the Information afd
Specified Against the said Laughlin Flinn and Margaret
his wife he will not prosecute the Same Information any
                                                                            further
