Court 1732 bastard Child on the Body of her the Same Mary to the high Displeasure of Almighty God to the Evill Example of all others in Such case offending Contrary to the peace of the Said Lord prop.ry that now is his good rule and Government and against the form of the Act of Assembly in Such case Lately made and provided On the Same bill was endorsed as foll. viz.t Billa Vera p Edw.d Worrell foreman And on the third tuesday of June being the fifteenth day of Said Month Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and thirty one The same Indictm.t was Continued untill the third tuesday in Aug.st next At which Said third tuesday in August being the Seventeenth day of Said Month Anno Domini Seventeen hundred and thirty one The afd Indictment was Continued untill the third tuesday in Nov.r then next ensuing At which Said third tuesday in Novemb.r ^y.e year last mentioned^ the afd Indictm.t was Continued untill the third tuesday in March and likewise Cap.s Issued returnable to the Same third tuesday in Nov.r At the third tuesday in March to which the afd Indictm.t was Continued and Capias to y.e Same Court returnd Non Est Inventus: And at the afd third tuesday in March being the twenty first day of Said Month Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and thirty one The afd Indictment was Continued untill the third tuesday in June then next foll. At which Said third tuesday in June being the twentyeth day of Said Month Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and thirty two Came Then the afd William Nevill and in his proper person Saith that he Cannot gainsay the Indictment afd So as afd against him brought nor but that he is guilty of the premisses above against him in the afd Indictment mentioned of Committing the fornication as above And thereupon Submits to the Court Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit the Same day last mentioned That the afd William Nevill pay the Sum of thirty Shillings Current money as a fine for Commiting the fornication afd in form afd Confest and also it is Considered That the Same William pay the Sum of three hundred Seventy Seven pounds of Tobacco costs accrueing on the premisses afd to the officers of this Court &c.a Ordered by the Court here that the Sherf of Kent County keep the afd William Nevell Shall make Satisfacion for the costs and Charges afd Thereupon came into Court Daniel Perkins of Said County and Saith that he will pay the afd cost and Charges to whom they are due for the afd William Nevill Ordered by the Court here That Surety be gave for to keep the Country Indemnified from and charges that hath or Shall accrue by means of the afd fornication and begitting the afd Child Thereupon Came Daniel Perkins of the afd Kent County Millwright And Acknowledged himself indebted to the right honourable the Ld proprietarie in the Sum of five thousand pounds of Tobacco to be paid to the Same Ld prop.ry his heirs and Successors to be made and Leveyed on his body Goods and Chattles Lands and tenements Conditionally That if the afd Child Shall not be keept from of the County and also Shall indemnify the County Accrue by means of the Same wherewith he acknowledges himself to be therewith Content Jam.s Smith Clk |
