285 And he who followeth for the Lord prop.ry in like manner &c.a T francis p Ld p.rp.ry Thereupon Command was given to the Sherf of Kent County that he Immediately cause to come here twelve &c.a By whom &c.a who neither &c.a To Recognize &c.a because as well &c.a of which Said precept the Said Sherf to wit Joseph Young Gentl now here at this day to wit the third tuesday of March being the twenty first day of Said Month Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and thirty one makes Return that he hath here ready twelve &c.a as by his precept he was Commanded And now here afterwards to wit the day and Year last mentioned come againe the afd Lord prop.ry by his attry afd as the afd William Blake by their attorney afd And that Jurors of that Jury being Impannell and called Likewise came to wit Samuel Tovey Morgan Hurtt John Cooper Charles Griffith John Derrick William Sincocks Isaac Freeman Griffith Jones Thomas Chandler John Dening Sutton Burgin & James Moore who being duely Elected tryd and Sworn to Say the truth in the premisses upon their Oath Do Say William Blake is guilty of the felony above mentioned as he Stands Indicted and by Samuel Tovey there foreman all So Say Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at a Court held for Kent County at the Court House in the Town of Chester in Said County on the third in March being the twenty first day of Said Month Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and thirty one That the afd William Blake Jurors afd found guilty he Stand one hour in the pillory and then to have on his bare back thirty one lashes well laid on till the blood appear And pay the four fold of the afd Goods which ^amounts^ to the Sum of two thousand nine hundred and twenty pounds of Tobacco &c.a And also it is Considered by the Court here that the afd William Blake pay the Sum of Seven hundred and twenty three pounds of Tobacco cost and Charges accrued on the premisses afd &c.a It is also Considered by the Court here at this day to wit the day and Year last mentioned That the Sherf of Kent County take the afd William Blake into his Custody and Execute the punishment in the Judgment afd Specified and afterwards to bring him into Court againe Of which precept to wit Joseph Young Gent. high Sherf of Kent County makes return on the day & year last Said that he hath Executed the punishment in the Judgment afd and also hath here the Said William Blake before the Court Jam.s Smith Clk At last November Court Henry Munk of Said County entered into recognizance in the Sum of twenty pounds Sterl for the appearance of the afd William Blake at this Court and to answer as afd And now here at this Court to wit the third tuesday in March being the twenty first day of Said Month Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred & thirty one came the afd William Blake and in his proper person appeared and the afd Henry Munk prayed that he might be discharged from his afd Recognizance Ordered by the Court here that the afd Recognizance be discharged as prayd the afd Recognizance of the afd Henry Munk is by this Court here discharged there being no cause Shewn to the Contrary &c.a And |
