Submits to the Court    Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at a
Court held for Kent County at the Court House in the Town of Chester in Said County
on the third tuesday in March being the twenty first day of Said Month Anno Dom.
Seventeen hundred and thirty one  That the afd William Body pay the Sum of
one hundred pounds of Tobacco to his Lordship the Right honourable the Lord
prop.ry &c.a As a fine for Committing the assault afd in form afd Confest and
also it is Considered by the Same Court the Same Day afd That the afd William
Body pay the Sum of four hundred and twenty three pounds of Tobacco costs
accrueing on the premisses afd to the officers of this Court

    Nehemiah Powell and John Body at last November Court entered
into recognizance in the Sum of ten pounds Sterling Each for the appearance of
the afd William Body at this Court and to answer as afd and be of good behaviour
&c.a The afd William Body in his proper person appears and prays that his
Suretys recognizance for his appear.c may be disch.d  Ordered by the Court here
that the Same Recognizances be disch.d as prayd  This Court here on the third
tuesday in March being the twenty first day of Said Month Anno Dom. Seventeen
hundred and thirty one Discharges the afd Nehemiah Powells and John
Bodys Recognizances as afd prayd there  being no cause Shewn to the Contrary

 Kent County fs  The Jurors for the Right honourable the Lord
prop.ry that now is for the Body of Kent County afd upon their oath
do present that William Chorom late of Shrewsbury Parish in the
County afd the Servant of George Gleaves the tenth day of September Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred
Thirty and one at the Parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdicion of this Court
in and upon Mathias Day in the peace of God and of the Said Lord prop.ry then and there being
with force and Arms an assault did make and him the Said Mathias then and there did
beat wound and Evilly treat So that of his life it was much dispaired and other harms to
him then and there did to the great damage of the Said Mathias and against the peace
of the Said Lord prop.ry his good rule and dignity &c.a
Test Mathias Day  On the back of the afd Indictment was endorsed as foll. viz.t A true
bill p Sam.l Wickes foreman
                                            And the afd William Chorom in his proper person
cometh and Saith that he is in no Sort guilty of the premisses above upon him imposed
as by the af Indictment it is alledged and thereof he puteth himself upon the
Country

    And Notwithstanding the afd plea comes the afd William Chorom and with
draws his plea afd as by him above pleaded
                                                                    And now here cometh and Saith that
he cannot gainsay the Indictment afd So as afd against him brought nor can he Say
but that he is guilty of the assault above upon him Imposed as by the afd Indictm.t
it is alledged  And thereupon Submits to the Court    Therefore it is Considered
by the Justices here to wit Att the Court house in the Town of Chester in Said County
On the third tuesday in March On the twenty first day of said Month Anno Dom. One
