    Kent County in Maryland fs.t Memorand.m Sep.r 3.d 1731 Mathias Day of K.t
Co.ty planter acknowledges himself justly Indebted unto the R.t Hon.ble the Lord
prop.ry of Maryland his heirs & Successors Ten pounds Sterling to be
Leveyd on his body goods & Chattles Lands & Tenements Conditionally
of the afd Mathias Day doth not make his personall appearance before the
Justices of his Lpp Court to be held at Chester Town in K.t Co.ty the third
tuesday in Nov.r next then & there to prosecute in behalf of his Lopp a
Certain William Chorum of S.d Co.ty for Beating & whiping of him the Said
Mathias Day &c.a then this Recognizance to be void otherwise to remain in
full force Taken before me one of the Right Hon.rble the Lord prop.rys
Justices for Kent County

    And now here at this Court to wit on the third tuesday in Nov.r being the
Sixteenth day of Said Month Anno Dom. 1731 Came the afd Mathias
Day and in his proper person appeared and prayd the afd Recog.c might
be disch.d  Ordered by the Court here that the Same be disch.d  Thereupon
the Same Recognizance is by this Court disch.d no Cause being Shewn to the
Contrary

    Mathias Day & Joseph Mann Sworn to y.e Grand Jury against Same
And the Grand Jury returns a bill against the same Sign a true bill
p Sam.l Wickes foreman  The afd William Chorom in his proper person
appeared and pleaded not guilty &c.a  Ordered that Surety be gave for
his appearance to answ.r the same at next Court

    The Same William Chorom of Kent County Planter came into Court in his
proper person and acknowledged himself indebted to the Right Hon.rble The
Lord prop.ry in the Sum of ten pounds Sterling to be paid to his Said
Lord Ship his heirs and Successors to be made and Leveyed on his body
Goods and Chattles Lands and Tenements Conditionally that if ^he^ the afd William
Chorom Shall not appear at next Court to be held for Said County on the
third tuesday in March next to answ.r unto an Indictment found against
him for an assault on Mathias Day in the mean time he is to be of good
behav.r wherewith he acknowledges himself Content
