231 Anno Domini Seventeen hundred and thirty one Came the afd Joan Anderson and Saith that Notwithstanding her plea afd Doth withdraw the Same and now Saith that She Cannot gainsay the Indictment afd So as afd against her brought nor but that She is guilty of the premisses above upon her Imposed as by the afd Indictm.t it is alledged and thereupon Submits to the Court Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at the Court House in the Town of Chester in Said County on the third tuesday in August being the Seventeenth day of Said Month Anno Dom. One Thousand Seven hundred and thirty one That the afd Joan Anderson to have fifteen Lashes on her bare back well laid on tell the blood ap.r as a punishment for the Crime afd And also pay the Sum of three hundred and Sixteen pounds of Tobacco costs Accrueing on the premisses afd to the officers of this Court It is also Considered by the Court here at this day to wit the day and Year last mentioned That the Sherf of Kent County take the afd Joan Anderson into his Custody and Execute the punishment in the Judgment afd Specified and afterwards to bring her into Court againe Of which precept to wit Joseph Young Gent high Sherrife of Kent C.ty makes return on the day and Year last mentioned That he hath Executed the punishment in the Judgment afd and also hath here the Said Joan Anderson before the Court
the Lord Proprietary the peace In the afd County to keep assigned and Acknowledged himself to Stand Justly Indebted to the Same Lord prop.ry in the Sum of twenty pounds Sterling money of Great Brittaine on his Lands and tenements goods & Chattles to be made and Leveyed for the use of the Same Lord prop.ry his heirs and Successors upon Condition that if the Same Benjamin Keare Shall not make his personall app.rc before the Justices of the Same County Court at a Court to be held at the Court House in the Town of Chester in the Said County on the third tuesday of August next ensueing And Answer unto Such things as Shall be objected against him on behalf of the Same Lord prop.ry and in the mean time to keep the peace and be of good behaviour &c.a Then this Recognizance to be Void Cs Hynson |
