for tending Eight or nine thousand tobacco plants more then was allowed

    And now here at this Court to wit at the Court House in the Town of Chester
in Said County on the third tuesday in June being the fifteenth day of Said Month
Anno Domini Seventeen hundred and thirty one Came the afd Charles and in his
proper person appeared to the afd presentment and made it appear that the
afd presentment was not warranted by any Law of the province    Therefore it
is Considered by the Justices here to wit the Same day and year last mentioned
That the afd Charles Smith as to the presentment afd he go
thereof without day and also pay the Sum of
pounds of Tobacco Costs accrueing to the officers of the Court on the premisses afd &c

 The Grand Jury having presented the afd Benjamin
which presentment is as foll. viz.t  We the Grand Jury
for the Body of Kent County Do present Benjamin Pearce for
tending between Seven and Eight thousand Tobacco plants
more then was allowed him according to Law    Matthew Howard
Joshua Vansants

    And now here at this Court to wit at the Court House in the Town of
