211 day of Said Month Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and thirty one That the afd Mary Davis to have on her back tell the blood appear ten Lashes it being the punishment for the Crime afd for Committing the fornication afd as afd Confest And also pay the Sum of three hundred and five pounds of Tobacco Costs accrueing on the premisses afd to the officers of this Court It is also Considered by the Court here at this day to wit the day and year last mentioned that the Sherrife of Kent County take the afd Mary Davis into his Custody and Execute the punishment in the Judgment afd Specified and afterwards to bring her into Court againe off which precept to wit Joseph Young Gent high Sherrife of Kent County makes return on the day and year last Said that he hath Executed the punishment in the afd Judgment and also hath here the Said Mary Davis before the Court Ordered by the Court here that She prove the begetter on whom to She being Sworn declares William Novell was the person Committed the fornication afd with her and did begett the afd bastard Child Ordered by the Court here that the Sherrif of Kent County keep the afd Mary in Safe Custody untill the fees afd Shall be Satisfied &c.a
Kent County fs Memorandum That Tench Francis Gent attorney of the Right Honourable the Lord prop.ry that now is for the County afd who for the Same Lord prop.ry in this part prosecuteth doth come here into Kent County Court before William Frisby Esq.r and his Associates his Lord Ships Justices of the Same County Court to wit at Chester Town in the afd County the Sixteenth day of March Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and thirty and for the Same Lord prop.ry doth give ^the^ Court here to understand and be informed that Nicholas Neal late of S.t Pauls Parish in the County afd planter the tenth day of June Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred & thirty at the Parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdicon of this Court did Committ fornication with Honora Carroll & then and there did beget a bastard child on the body of the Said Honora contrary to the peace of the Said Lord prop.ry his good rule and government & against the form of the Act of Assembly in Such case made & provided where |
